OnStar is keeping the Christmas spirit alive in General Motors vehicles all over the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe for the seventh consecutive year. Subscribers to the service will once again be able to press the blue button in their vehicle to receive a GPS location of Santa’s whereabouts on Christmas Eve, referred to by OnStar as the “Santa Update.”

With support from the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and their 60 years of experience following Santa, OnStar subscribers can press their blue OnStar button to learn Santa’s progress.

If you and the kids are in the car between 6 a.m. on December 24 and 5 a.m. on December 25, OnStar advisors will be able to tell you where Santa is based on NORAD’s official “Santa Tracker” map.

New for this year, together with Audiobooks, OnStar is offering free downloads of the Christmas classic, “The Night before Christmas.” Download logistics are currently being finalized and can be shared once they are complete.

And if you’re worried OnStar will be too busy tracking St. Nick to help you unlock the keys from your car or call you a tow truck, don’t be, they’re accommodating the extra calls by putting more than the usual number of advisors on duty that night.

Also, individuals without an OnStar subscription can follow Santa’s journey via the NORAD Tracks Santa website, Facebook page, Twitter hashtag #NORADSanta or by calling the hotline at 1-877-HI-NORAD (1-877-446-6723).
