Shriner Screening Clinic

The Old National Trail Shrine Club and Tin Lizzies of Ainad Temple with Shriners Hospital for Children – St. Louis, will be sponsoring a screening clinic for children with orthopedic and pediatric conditions.  The event will be held @ Fayette County Hospital on Saturday, April 11th from 9 – 11 am. Hosicks & Chrysler raise money for the Vandalia Elementary School

Hosick Motors & Chrysler invited area residents to test drive new Chryslers. 152 showed at at the Vandalia Elementary School and the result was $1,520 being donated to the school! Thanks everyone!

Shriner’s Screening Clinic in Vandalia

The Old National Trail Shrine Club of the Ainad Shriners is sponsoring a Screening Clinic, this Saturday (March 29th) from 9 to 11 am at the Fayette County Hospital.  This session is screening for children with bone, muscle or joint problems.

Vandalia Olde Tyme Christmas

This weekend in Vandalia kicks off with Olde Tyme Christmas from 5:00pm-9:00pm Friday –  Merchants will be open late, Santa and Mrs. Claus, Live Nativity Scene, Carolers, Live Reindeer,  Chime Masters and Trolley Rides are just a few of the activities! The Mayor will light the City  Tree at 5pm sharp. One will even be able to see the Grinch as he roams around town.  Saturday  morning will see the merchants open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with sales in store and possibly  have the Chime Masters remaining downtown.

RAM Gridiron Challenge earns $3,620 for Vandal’s Sports Boosters

The RAM Gridiron Challenge is complete and Hosick Motors owner Bryan Hosick was pleased to present a check from RAM Trucks to members of the Vandal’s Sports Boosters Club Kim Well and Angela Reeter for $3,620.

Participants took a couple of minute ride in a new RAM Truck, and then RAM donated $20 for each test drive taken. Thank you to sports booster volunteers for their time and effort and RAM Trucks for their generous donation!

Dodge and the Challenged Athletes Foundation

For the eighth year in a row, Dodge is sponsoring the Million Dollar Challenge, a seven-day, 620-mile bike race up the California coast beginning October 12. The ride from San Francisco to San Diego is dedicated to raise more than one million dollars for the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), which funds grants to give disabled athletes sporting equipment to get back in the game.   (more…)

2013 Vandalia Grand Levee

For more than forty years, Vandalia has been celebrating their history and heritage with the Grande Levee’ on the grounds of the Vandalia Statehouse, which is the Oldest State Capitol Building in Illinois. This year, 2013, the event will be held on the last Friday and Saturday in September, September 27 & 28. All events for the Grande Levee’ will take place on the Statehouse Lawn. (more…)
