Mourning the Loss of Ron Dolly

ron-dollyHosick Motors is deeply saddened by the recent death of our friend and colleague Ron Dolly. Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 8 pm Friday (2/28) and funeral services held Saturday at 10 am at the First Baptist Church in Mulberry Grove.

Our deepest sympathy to Ron’s family, including his wife April and children Colby, Cody & Adrienne.

Ron is most remembered as owner of Ron’s Amoco. He has served in various capacities at Hosick Motors in last the 20+ years. Ron Dolly will be missed.

Buick Encore Makes the Greener Choices List

The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy has released its annual list of the greenest vehicles available on the market in 2014. To make the “Greener Choices” list, the models must be widely available within each vehicle class.

We are happy to announce that the 2014 Buick Encore has earned a place on the list of their “Greener Choices.”

Tire Sidewall Valleys, Creases, Ripples and Indentations

It is not uncommon to find creases, ripples, valleys or waves of indentations on the sidewall of your radial tire. On smaller tires, they can sometimes be very delicate and easy to miss. On larger tires, they might stand out and be quite obvious, even from a distance.

These creases are known in the tire business as sidewall undulations. Sidewall undulations are vertical, meaning they make a straight line across the sidewall, from the bead to the tread. They develop naturally because of the internal architecture of your radial tire.

7 Chrysler Vehicles Make the “Most Loved” List

Strategic Vision, a San Diego-based consulting firm, released the results of its survey of America’s most-loved automobiles and seven Chrysler company vehicles made the list. The report, released on Valentine’s Day, captures a vehicle’s total emotional response from buyer-drivers, according to the firm. The Chrysler Group vehicles on the “most-loved” list were: Small Car – Dodge Dart; Full-Size Car – Dodge Charger; Specialty Coupe – Dodge Challenger; Full-Size Pickup – Ram 1500; Heavy Duty Pickup – Ram 2500/3500; Mid-Size SUV – Dodge Durango, Jeep® Grand Cherokee.

Carmakers build safety, connectivity into the dashboard

Winners, announced last week at the Chicago Auto Show, included the Dodge Dart for connectivity. In total, there were six winners in these categories: trucks, small, midsize, luxury, ultra-luxury and green vehicles.

Peggy Smedly, Connected World’s editorial director, said judges looked not just at how well the system worked, but how it kept drivers safe.  “I’m really big about safety,” she said, “where consumers can focus more on the road ahead.”

Reviewers say the 2014 GMC Acadia has an upscale interior and a refined ride.
